Listen and Choose a Response
1 question per recordingYou hear one line and pick the natural reply. Decide what the speaker is doing — asking, offering, apologizing — before you look at the options.
Listen to a Conversation
about 2 questions eachIdentify the problem and what the speakers decide to do about it.
Listen to an Announcement
about 2 questions eachCatch the what, where and when — and the one thing listeners are asked to do.
Listen to an Academic Talk
about 4 questions eachThe opening sentence usually states the topic. Note each main point and the example attached to it.
Key Strategies
- 1.Every recording plays once and the questions follow immediately — stay ready.
- 2.In Choose a Response, beware of options that simply repeat a word from the recording.
- 3.Take notes using keywords, not full sentences.
- 4.Pay close attention when the speaker says 'importantly', 'however', or 'for example'.
- 5.You can't go back — commit to your answer and move forward with confidence.
